Maintaining
ink cartridges
|
Tips for maintaining high quality
and keeping the ink cartridge in top condition::
Proper use and handling will provide optimum print quality and ink cartridge
life. To keep the ink cartridge in good working order, print with the ink
cartridge- approximately once per month to keep the nozzles clear and clean.
- Keep theink cartridge sealed in the original packaging until ready to use. Ink
can evaporate through the nozzles and through the plastic pen cartridge body,
thereby reducing ink cartridge life. An ink cartridge has a longer life when sealed
in the packaging.
-
After opening the ink cartridge HP 15 , store it in the printer in the "home position"
to help prevent ink from drying out in the nozzles. This will minimize the risk
of contamination with airborne dust particles.
-
Press the power button to turn off the printer rather than unplugging the
printer or powering the unit off via a surge protector.
- Do not cut power to the
printer without turning off the power button. Pressing the power button caps the
ink cartridge in the service station, preventing ink from drying in the
ink cartridge nozzles.
- Store ink cartridge at room temperature.
- Do not re-tape the cartridge if you
remove it from the printer. If you must remove a cartridge, store it at room
temperature in a rigid sealed plastic container. Make sure that the nozzles on
the bottom of the cartridge do not touch the side of the container.
- Do store unopened ink cartridges in an upright position. Do not store an unopened
cartridge on its side for long periods of time.
